Nestled between the wide open prairies and the Rocky Mountains you will find the picturesque landscapes and quaint communities of Alberta's Foothills.
Our first stop is in the heart of the Foothills at Eau Claire Distillery in Diamond Valley. Here, you will join the Eau Claire Distillery Prohibition Tour where you’ll experience travelling back in time to the days of Prohibition when the Moral Reform League declared war against the scourge of alcohol. Open the doors to the sights, sounds and tastes of the 1920s, and learn about Alberta’s place in Prohibition history, Turner Valley whisky trading and how Eau Claire Distillery came to be. Enjoy a guided tasting of Eau Claire’s award-winning spirits and an unmistakably delicious cocktail, then sit down to a light lunch. There will be plenty of time to soak in the one-of-a-kind ambiance in the Speakeasy before stopping at Eau Claire’s Tasting Room where you can purchase merchandise and their signature spirits to take home before you board the bus once again to continue the days adventure.
Just a stones throw from Diamond Valley is the hamlet of Millarville, the home of our second stop - Spirit Hills Winery. Upon arrival you will be whisked away to hear how Rocky Mountain Foothills flowers and bees come together to produce wine with a distinct Alberta flavour. Learn how the winery uses ancient honey wine fermentation methods, and integrates organic herbs and berries, to produce the highest quality wines. Enjoy samples of Spirit Hills signature flower wines and taste the delicate flavours and aromas that make each unique. After the guided tour ends, relax with a glass of your choice on the patio surrounded by breathtaking views. Before your time at Spirit Hills Winery comes to an end be sure to shop your favourites to enjoy at home!
$150 per person +gst. 18+ Only.
Please note we have two departures for this event:
- MEDICINE HAT 7am DEPART 13th Ave Co-op - back parking lot (load 6:45am)
- BROOKS 8am DEPART Tim Hortons - 2nd Ave W -
Bus returns to Medicine Hat approximately 7:30pm
CANCELLATION POLICY
Ticket sales deadline is Saturday April 22nd. Minimum 16 ticket sales required for trip to go ahead. If minimum tickets have not been sold by April 22nd the trip may be cancelled. If the event is cancelled ticket holders will receive a full refund.
Tickets are a final sale. Tickets may be transferred to another name if the original ticket holder can no longer attend. If ticket holder name change is required it is the responsibility of the original ticket holder to update the information with Prairie Sprinter.
OTHER INFORMATION
Eau Claire Distillery is located in Diamond Valley, Alberta. Spirit Hills Winery is located in Millarville, Alberta. Both communities are a little more than 3 hours west of Medicine Hat. A washroom break will be offered on the journey to and from in Bassano that is about half way between Medicine Hat and Diamond Valley.
Light lunch will be provided at Eau Claire Distillery. Prairie Sprinter will contact you two weeks prior to the event date to pre-select your lunch order. Menu may include a variety of sandwiches/wraps/salads.
There is plenty of cargo space to store your purchases. Please note that open alcohol is not permitted on any Prairie Sprinter vehicle.
